Oreo Brownies ♥
The other day I found a yummy recipe on the blog 'London Bakes' for oreo brownies. I've seen loads of pics online of these brownies and they looked incredible! Proper fattening, sticky, sugary comfort food. I loved how the oreo cookies looked pressed into the top of the brownie.
I decided to give this a whirl and was really pleased with the result. Please be warned - these brownies are full of all those bad things that taste so nice. The brownies are quite rich, so you only need a little square. They are lovely served with ice cream, or just fresh and warm from the oven.
I used the recipe from London Bakes blog post, which can be found here. I found my brownies were done in 30-40 minutes, and I also used a little less sugar, as 300g seemed a bit obscene as I was stirring it all in! I think I probably used 200-250g instead. London Bakes adapted a Martha Stewart fudgy chocolate brownies recipe, and I think the combo of fudgy brownie and oreos is divine! The little bits of oreos inside give the brownie a nice crunchy texture.
I stupidly crushed too many oreos for the mixture and didn't leave enough for the topping (I wanted to cut brownie into squares, with an oreo on top for each!) Thinking about it I should have just halved all my oreos and they would have gone further on top. Hey ho, they still taste yummy!

I thought I'd share this with you in case any of you are thinking of doing any Sunday baking. This is sure to be a hit!

These look so tasty! Mmm, I can almost taste the chocolate on my lips. Sigh, I'm probably going to pick up some brownies at the grocery now, haha.
