Sunny pineapple outfit - H&M wishlist

I've been searching high and low for a plain black maxi skirt to wear this summer. Harder task than it sounds! There are all sorts of varieties out at the moment- mini skirts with sheer maxi skirt on top, maxis that are shorter at the front, tight tubey ones!

I saw the perfect maxi skirt in H&M the other day on my lunch break. Alas, when I went back later in the week to buy it they had all sold out! Only grey and khaki left in store. Boo!

I went online tonight to hunt down my perfect maxi skirt, and found several other things I want to get! Sadly its the wrong side of payday, so these have gone on my wishlist!

I actually hate pineapple to eat. It makes me feel really ill! But I really love this t-shirt. It's silly and fun and summery, and would look great with the skirt! I love love the suede bag, perfect for laid back summer days and nights! The cardigan is really unusual and has a fine glittery thread through it. I really like cardigans with no buttons as I never do them up anyway! The shoes are silver and beige and would go nicely with the metallics in the cardigan. And finally - the sunglasses! I don't think I'd be brave enough to wear these in public, but they made me smile!

Fur Coat No Knickers

Here comes a wedding-y one! Wedding dress shopping has been really fun so far as I have heaps of time, and I'm just seeing what is out there! I knew one of the first places I had to check out would be Fur Coat No Knickers as I love everything vintage, and they stock loads of gorgeous vintage wedding dresses!

Based in Kingly Court, just off Carnaby Street, I made an appointment one Saturday recently and bimbled on down. I was greeted with a glass of champers, and I admired the shop whilst I waited to go through. The shop is adorned with lots of vintage hair pieces, brooches, shoes, birdcage veils, not to mention some gorgeous dresses.

I tried on a few of their vintage wedding dresses, and also some of their own collection which are inspired by vintage gowns. All of the dresses were absolutely gorgeous and I loved the swishy petticoats you get to wear underneath them!

I tried on a gorgeous champagne gold coloured prom style dress that was so sparkly and amazing but thought it prob wasn't weddingy enough! I also tried on a few 50s style ones that nip on at the waist and flared out skirts- so much fun!

I've found during my wedding dress search that a more slinky empire cut floor length number suits my figure best, but it was so much fun trying on the frocks at FCNK! I'm going to pop in again later in the year as they're always getting new vintage stock in. If you are a bride to be who loves all things vintage then you must visit this shop and the lovely ladies who work there! I'm very envious of fcnk brides!

Lego cupcakes

A while back I bought a really cool 'lego' embossing rolling pin from the Cake and Bake Show in London. It was pretty pricey at 6 quid, but I had to have it! You roll it over coloured icing and it leaves little circular impressions like you find on lego bricks!

I bought it with my nephew in mind, as he loves lego. He also loves Thomas the Tank Engine but my icing skills aren't that advanced yet! It was his 2nd birthday earlier this month so I put the rolling pin to good use.

I made normal vanilla cupcakes and topped them with bright lego patterned icing. I even cut some to look a bit like the bricks. Excuse the yellow icing, its pretty shoddy! I had to do it last minute with one of those ready made in a tube things!

What do you think?

I'm back!

I've been gone a long while...sorry! I decided to stop blogging after Christmas last year due to a variety of reasons, mostly time, and also was lacking confidence to continue which is silly as I've really missed blogging since I've been gone! I think looking at a lot of my fave blogs daily really inspired me to get over my writers block and return to blogging land!

Since I last posted a lot a lot has happened. Mainly getting engaged! Which is pretty crazy!! I went to NY in Jan with the bf and a few days in he popped the question next to the Hudson river, and so have been on a bit of a high this year! Now looking into various wedding things so don't be surprised to see some wedding posts soon!

I got this beautiful ring made. It's a rose gold and diamond pave band with a brilliant cut diamond in the centre framed in white gold and more diamonds! I'm not a big jewellery person (in terms of bling!) so it was a bold choice but the fact I'm quite low key with plain studs most days means I don't look too Pat Butcher!

I've been going a bit mad looking into wedding stuff as initially I had so many ideas! Pinterest boards have been really useful for me to realise what I really like and what's practical (affordable)! This wedding business is so god damn pricey! Yikes.

One thing I have definitely decided on however, is this cake topper :-)

It's perfect! Me and the fiance (ha!) and Pig :) A lovely lady on Etsy makes these and I'm going to ask her to customise one for us, to have the blonde barnet and the right coloured suit etc!

I hope you've all been well. Sorry again for my long absence! I have heard that google reader is going, so I've added a 'Follow this blog' for Bloglovin on the top right hand of the page, if you'd like to add me!
