Festive Red Nails

I'm going to a book launch tonight and am getting a little bit dressed up which is exciting! I only found out on Friday I was going to the party so was frantically looking for something to wear. I ended up finding a lovely long sleeve black dress with mini ruffle neckline from a charity shop (originally from Zara), and I bought some sheer black polka dot tights, and I'm going to wear some black heels with bows on the toe that I got from a charity shop a year or so ago.

I couldn't decide what colour to paint my nails ( I have so many colours, will have to post a pic of them all soon!) and then decided to go for bright red, as I plan to wear my Chanel Rouge Allure lippie, and I wanted my nails to match.

I used Rimmel London Pro 'Hot Gossip' for the base, and then on my ring finger I added some sparkles with Barry M 'Red Glitter' to give them a more christmassy look! I really like the effect but the temptation to go all glitter was great, I just love Barry M's glittery polishes!

Excuse dark pics - am taking them at 7am and light is awful. Unfortunately the pics don't show the sparkles very well. In real life it's very glittery and catches the light.

I love using two different nail varnishes like this, it just makes them that extra bit special and finished!

What are your favourite nail polish combinations?

    1. The base red is brilliant, lasts ages and has a shaped brush so you can pretty much paint each nail in 2 strokes max! x
