Fur Coat No Knickers

Here comes a wedding-y one! Wedding dress shopping has been really fun so far as I have heaps of time, and I'm just seeing what is out there! I knew one of the first places I had to check out would be Fur Coat No Knickers as I love everything vintage, and they stock loads of gorgeous vintage wedding dresses!

Based in Kingly Court, just off Carnaby Street, I made an appointment one Saturday recently and bimbled on down. I was greeted with a glass of champers, and I admired the shop whilst I waited to go through. The shop is adorned with lots of vintage hair pieces, brooches, shoes, birdcage veils, not to mention some gorgeous dresses.

I tried on a few of their vintage wedding dresses, and also some of their own collection which are inspired by vintage gowns. All of the dresses were absolutely gorgeous and I loved the swishy petticoats you get to wear underneath them!

I tried on a gorgeous champagne gold coloured prom style dress that was so sparkly and amazing but thought it prob wasn't weddingy enough! I also tried on a few 50s style ones that nip on at the waist and flared out skirts- so much fun!

I've found during my wedding dress search that a more slinky empire cut floor length number suits my figure best, but it was so much fun trying on the frocks at FCNK! I'm going to pop in again later in the year as they're always getting new vintage stock in. If you are a bride to be who loves all things vintage then you must visit this shop and the lovely ladies who work there! I'm very envious of fcnk brides!

  1. This place sounds so awesome.. I'm not even getting married and I want to go there! The dress in the first photo is absolutely beautiful although, like you, I'd have to go for something a bit slinkier for it to suit me xx
